Questions
The things people actually ask
Straight answers about the pool, the layout, the house rules and how booking works.
The house
How many people does Casa Antonius sleep?
Up to six, in three bedrooms: two with a double bed and one with two single beds.
How many bathrooms are there?
Three. A shower room with WC on the ground floor, and two full bathrooms upstairs, each with WC, shower, bath and bidet — one of them en-suite.
How big is the house?
About 120 m² — roughly 1,290 square feet — of living space, arranged over more than one level, plus a terrace and two upper balconies.
Is there a lift, or step-free access?
There is no lift. The living room, kitchen, terrace and a shower room with WC are on the ground floor; the bedrooms and the two full bathrooms are upstairs. If anyone in your party finds stairs difficult, this is worth weighing before you book.
Is there air conditioning and heating?
Yes — a self-controlled system that both cools and heats, in every room, plus ceiling fans and a fireplace in the living room.
Is there a washing machine and a proper kitchen?
Yes. The kitchen has an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, and there is a washing machine, drying rack, iron and ironing board.
Is there a smoke alarm?
No. There is a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit in the house, but no smoke alarm.
The pool and the condominium
Is the pool private?
No. The pool is communal: it belongs to the condominium and is shared with the other houses. It is maintained for you, open all year, and there is a separate shallow pool for small children beside it.
Is the children’s pool separate from the main pool?
Yes — it is a shallow circular pool a few steps from the main one, within the same enclosed pool terrace.
Is there a lifeguard?
No. As with private condominium pools generally in Portugal, there is no lifeguard and children must be supervised at all times.
Is there anything for children besides the pool?
There is a playground with a climbing frame and slide in the landscaped communal gardens between the houses.
Is there parking?
Yes. You park on the street, and comfortably so: this is a quiet residential neighbourhood where street parking is safe and there is generally plenty of space near the house.
House rules
Are parties or events allowed?
No. Parties and events are strictly prohibited, and guests are asked to keep noise down and respect the residential nature of the condominium. This is not a formality — it is why the house is as calm as it is, and it is the main reason our guests choose it.
Do you accept stag or hen groups?
No. Casa Antonius is not party accommodation, and bookings from groups of young people up to the age of 25 are not accepted.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not accepted.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is before 11:00. Late arrivals can be accommodated by arrangement, for a fee. Be Cherish will ask you to confirm your flight and arrival time about a week beforehand so keys can be handed over smoothly.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, a refundable deposit is taken on arrival. Be Cherish will confirm the amount and the accepted payment methods when you book.
Booking, longer stays and getting here
Can I book through this website?
No. This site presents the house; all bookings go through Be Cherish Lda, the licensed agency that manages Casa Antonius. Every “check availability” link takes you to their official listing, where you will find live availability, current prices and the cancellation terms.
Why are there no prices on this website?
Because they would be out of date the moment a rate changed. Prices vary by season and by length of stay, and the only reliable figures are the ones on the Be Cherish listing.
Is the house suitable for wintering in the Algarve?
Yes, and deliberately so. The air conditioning heats as well as cools, the communal pool stays open all year, there is a full kitchen, a washing machine, fibre Wi-Fi with a real workspace, and a supermarket and hospital a couple of kilometres away. Longer winter stays may be possible by arrangement with Be Cherish.
What is Albufeira like in winter?
Considerably quieter, and better for it. Winters are mild — daytime highs typically 15–18 °C in midwinter, and lunch outside is normal — the golf courses play year-round, and because Balaia is a residential neighbourhood rather than a resort strip, daily life around the house simply carries on.
Can I stay for a month or longer?
It may be possible, particularly outside the summer, but it is arranged case by case and is not guaranteed. Tell Be Cherish the months you have in mind and how many of you there are, and they can tell you what is free. No long-stay rate is published here.
Can I hire golf clubs?
Yes — two sets are available to rent through Be Cherish, for a fee they will quote when you book. Balaia Golf is 900 metres from the house.
How do I get there from Faro airport?
Faro airport is about 35 kilometres away, roughly half an hour by car. Most guests hire a car; parking on the street by the house is safe and easy. Be Cherish can also arrange an airport transfer for a surcharge.
Is a cot or high chair available?
Yes, both can be arranged through Be Cherish for a fee when you book.
